If I were a shark, I would eat my sister

Hello it is me, Oscar and I would like to say that with school coming back it's going to be even harder to remember to do my blog because there will be homework, tests and a lot things to remember. Oh I forget all the time, well guess it's time to tell you today's information so here it is

"Almost all sharks like to do their hunting solo, but scalloped hammerhead sharks prefer to travel in schools during their summer migration."

Well let's get to today's fact. YAAAAAAAAAA!

"Sharks that eat their siblings' eggs in the womb aren't vicious. They're just seeking out nutrients to sustain themselves as they grow."

That means if me & my sister were in my moms tummy at the same time and I ate my sister OR she ate me,it wouldn't mean we were bad it just means that me or her were REALLY hungry. Well I guess I should put my link so you can look at it.

Hi I'm sorry I was not blogging I had a vacation to my grandma's house but I am back. Oh you should check out Aquarium of the Pacific. It is a great site. Oh I all most forgot here is the info.


Sharks have endured at least four global mass extinctions, when much of life on Earth perished. Modern sharks have evolved from families 150 to 25 million years ago. Their incredible designs have served them remarkably well. But now people have become the top predators, and shark populations are declining—some say by as much as 90 percent. Wasteful and destructive fishing practices have contributed to the dramatic decline of many species. Somewhere between 30-100 million sharks die each year due to fishing activity.

Fact: Basking sharks are slow moving sharks that belong to the family Cetorhinidae and the genus Cetorhinus.

"Sustainable Seafood. No Catch!"

On the weekend, me and my mom went to Superstore and we were in the Seafood department and I spotted this sign. I thought it was REAL COOL because they weren't selling Shark!

The sign says they don't sell sea creatures that are at risk!! It just makes my day because they aren't selling shark which helps sharks survive longer! As they say, every little bit helps!

Looks like Superstore is another store my family will be visiting a lot because THEY CARE!!

I took a pamphlet home that says, "Sustainable Seafood. NO CATCH!"

"We believe healthy oceans are vital to a healthy planet. We're working hard to ensure that all of the wild and farm raised seafood and fish in our stores are sustainably sourced by the end of 2013.

I think this is great! Its not only helping sharks but other sea creatures. And I think that's just AWESOME!!! But we need to get other grocery stores doing the same thing. Good for Superstore for being a leader and taking a stand!! They care! Do you?

Hi it's me Oscar sorry I was not Blogging we were very busy,but now I'm not busy now so I can give you the info you need to know that you didn't know before.

Sharks have an amazingly wide sightline spanning nearly 360 degrees?

Hi that show, Man vs, Fish, was great like SO cool I had to say it two times! Well should give you today's Shark Fact so here it is.

"Sharks are a type of fish with a full cartilaginous skeleton and a highly streamlined body. The earliest known sharks date from more than 420 million years ago, before the time of the dinosaurs.

Since that time, sharks have diversified into 440 species, ranging in size from the small dwarf lanternshark, Etmopterus perryi, a deep sea species of only 17 centimetres (6.7 in) in length, to the whale shark, Rhincodon typus, the largest fish, which reaches approximately 12 metres (39 ft 4 in) and which feeds only on plankton, squid, and small fish by filter feeding."

The Mako Shark

I just finished watching Man vs. Fish on the Discovery Channel. It was about catching sharks, putting tags on them and then releasing them.

No shark is faster than the Mako, the most amazing sharks. Only a bunch of fish can only outrun it. Two-thirds of its brain is devoted to smell.

The Salmon shark is 10-feet long and weighs 500lbs!

The Tiger shark is 10ft and weighs 850lbs!

On the show, the Hammerhead shark they caught was over 1,000 lbs!!

The nine known species range from 0.9 to 6 m (3.0 to 20 ft) long. The average hammerhead shark weighs about 500 pounds, but some may grow up to 1000. All the species have a projection of their face on all sides of the head that gives it a resemblance to a flattened hammer.

I learned that people shouldn't fear the Mako, they should respect it.

If you could swim with a shark, which one would it be?

I would swim with a Whale Shark - its the safest one to swim with. Actually, I wouldn't mind swimming with any shark! That would be pretty cool!
